Fani joined the EU Delegation to Bangladesh in September 2022 where she manages the e-governance and digital transformation programme as well as the design of Global Gateway infrastructure investment projects on digital connectivity and digital circular economy. Before moving to Bangladesh, Fani spent five years with the Directorate General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (DG ECHO) as political communicator and policy officer in crisis management, humanitarian aid and civil protection. Prior to that, she worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Greece during the Syrian refugee crisis and with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Kosovo and Kyrgyzstan on various governance programmes spanning public administration, elections and political parties, local self-government, public participation, and digital rights. Fani started her career at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) where she managed capacity-development and research projects on cybercrime and e-evidence and the online sale of counterfeit medicines.
