Aare is the Chief Operational Officer and Member of the Executive Board of CybExer Technologies since June 2018. Prior to this, Aare worked as the Cyber Defence Exercise Manager of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, where he planned, executed, and oversaw several iterations of world-leading cyber defence exercises (Locked Shields, Crossed Swords, and other NATO organized exercises) between 2014 and 2018. Before his time at NATO, Aare held various roles within the Estonian Information System Authority (RIA) from 2011 until 2014, culminating in serving as the Head of Estonian National Information Security. Aare is an experienced lecturer who has delivered programmes and lectures worldwide, ranging from Peru to Palestine. He holds a degree from the University of Tartu and has held a CISA certificate since 2013. In recent years, Aare has focused on building Cyber Ranges worldwide, conducting exercises such as Live-Fire, CTF, Hybrid, and Employee testing events on top of Cyber Range environments for military, private, and CII sectors. He has solid experience building Cyber Ranges for government and private sector customers.
